At Affixxius Productions, we have been producing corporate videos since we were 16 years old and when we started I can't say we knew why people commissioned corporate videos - all we knew was that we were good at making them. As we have progressed in this industry and grown our company within it, we have had to slowly learn the theory behind why people commission corporate videos so we could market ourselves effectively and build our client base.
In the early days of video production it was certainly considered a luxury to have a corporate video, but now things are very different. The three things we identified very early on that prevent videos from being commissioned are style, application and cost. As explained above, in terms of application a video can be created for any type of business for any type of purpose. Here at Affixxius Productions, this is where we start before we even begin to make any corporate video. With regard to cost, videos usually cost anywhere from £1,500 up to £300,000, the best thing is to set out a realistic budget from the start. It really doesn't need to cost the earth, but video is easily manageable within anybodies marketing budget. Lastly, style is everything. If it looks awful, then it could have a negative effect on your company and with modern editing software being as good as it is, there is no reason for it to look dated and what corporate videos 'used to look like'.
