Sky Sports News, East Midlands Today and ‘Beastie Boys’ Suits*

Corporate Video has Changed.

Today we filmed Samit Patel smashing paint filled ‘cricket balls’ with a high speed camera. This is all part of the concept we’ve put together called ‘Put Some Colour in your Cricket’ to do with advertising twenty20 at Nottinghamshire Count Cricket Club. The shots we gathered today are part of a bigger video that will sell some of the extras available at Trent Bridge and also highlight some things about the team. Although the footage is still very raw, it looks incredible and can’t wait to get it up online.

Due to the fact this was a very unique shoot for everybody involved, it did attract the attention of quite a few people, such as Sky Sports News, East Midlands Today, The Independent and our very own Leicester Mercury. I have recorded all the news reports that were leaked throughout the day and I shall upload them up on here very soon. So check back in a bit for those.

*You will understand the reference to the ‘Beastie Boys’ suits when you see the news footage!

Why Affixxius Education?

Corporate Video has Changed.

Affixxius Education has been making school promotional videos for some time now and every so often we get some real challenges. This time it wasn’t getting our equipment to the top of a mountain in Switzerland, but delivering a 6 minute video in under 2 weeks. This was the challenge set Herts & Essex High School in Bishop Stortford, who required a video for their sixth form open day in February. I’m very pleased to say that we turned round the entire video and 50 copies on DVD within 6 working days and this is what they had to say:

“I wanted to give you a little feedback on the film from our open evening.  142 people actually handed in the feedack form, which was approximately 1/3 of the attendance.

Overall:

113 people commented on the film, which was joint top with the ‘atmosphere’ of the evening.  This was under the heading of ‘What went well’.

Comments related to the film are as follows:

So all that is left for me is to say a huge thank you for all that you did for us in a very short timescale.  I have to say that you and your team were not only extremely professional in all you did, but you looked after all our requests, and seemed to not rest until the job was done to our exact requirements.  For that I am extremely grateful.  I really look forward to seeing you guys soon.

Many thanks
Richard Vaughan
Assistant Headteacher”

Needless to say, we do prefer to get a bit more than two weeks notice to produce a school promotional video, but we proved if it needs to be done, it is possible. Herts and Essex High School were great to work for and we hope to work with them again on future projects. However, the proof is in the pudding, so pop over to http://www.hertsandessex.herts.sch.uk/ and watch the video on their homepage.
