Merry Affixximus

Corporate Video Has Changed

As mentioned a few week ago in one of my various blogs, I talked about what we consider to be the holiest day of the year, Affixximus. Unfortunately for us, its already been and gone and was celebrated on 18th December. In no way is Affixximus affiliated with Christmas. This year we decided to go Go Karting again, and basically punish our bodies for well over 200 laps of speed (and pain), with six of us this time, as opposed to four last year. Somehow, and I’m fairly sure there were some performance enhancing drugs involved, Jonny, our in house designer won and also beat the 24 second barrier, with a lap time of  23.783.

We had also booked to go laser questing in the afternoon, however, all of our bodies had been punished enough and we all bottled out of it and rested up for our evening meal at Wing Wah Restaurant, in Burton-Upon-Trent. I have put various pictures from the festivities below for your perusal.

On a work related front, we have a few projects keeping us nicely busy over the Affixximus period, and a number of videos due to commence in January. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all who we have worked for and with during 2008 and wish you all a prosperous 2009.

Education Stations!

Corporate Video Has Changed

In the aftermath of the very successful ISC conference in November, we are soon to begin extensive video work for some major schools and colleges nationwide. We always expect christmas to be quiet, as the days close in and the weather holds siege on the nation- but again we are bubbling away with interesting contracts, new agency relationships and major tenders. Brilliant. We are soon to bring on a new member to the Affixxius team, so the new year brings even more change!

We’re all looking forward to what the new year may bring! Bring it on!

People of the Year Awards

Corporate Video Has Changed

I have been wanting to talk about the work we have been doing for RADAR for a while. For the people who may have never heard of RADAR, they are a charity organisation who remove personal, social and often political barriers faced by disabled people in modern day society. Their annual awards cover various categories from entrepreneurial to media based to business in general and look to reward people for their efforts in helping disability agenda.

Affixxius Productions were therefore honored to be given the contract of producing all the winners VT clips for the nights awards. This did mean that in October we were traveling the length and breadth of Britain, filming possible winners to produce a short 45 second edit, saying who they were and what they did, should they win the award. I’m hoping we will upload one of the videos onto our Affixxius Now service before Christmas, so you can see what we created.

Last night, Miles and I attended the awards and had a great time. Notably, Miles introduced himself to Sir Trevor Brooking and then kept him up to date with the West Ham scorline all evening and I sat a couple of tables back from Matthew Goode, who is staring in the new Watchmen film (http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/watchmen/) which I can’t wait to see! Below are some select photos from the evening.
