Affixxius Education has been making school promotional videos for some time now and every so often we get some real challenges. This time it wasn’t getting our equipment to the top of a mountain in Switzerland, but delivering a 6 minute video in under 2 weeks. This was the challenge set Herts & Essex High School in Bishop Stortford, who required a video for their sixth form open day in February. I’m very pleased to say that we turned round the entire video and 50 copies on DVD within 6 working days and this is what they had to say:

“I wanted to give you a little feedback on the film from our open evening.  142 people actually handed in the feedack form, which was approximately 1/3 of the attendance.

Overall:

113 people commented on the film, which was joint top with the ‘atmosphere’ of the evening.  This was under the heading of ‘What went well’.

Needless to say, we do prefer to get a bit more than two weeks notice to produce a school promotional video, but we proved if it needs to be done, it is possible. Herts and Essex High School were great to work for and we hope to work with them again on future projects. Hello all, just a quick note from the Sales and Marketing desk here at the leading corporate video production specialists. Last week was generally manic with filming four days out of the five and sponsoring an event for the PPA in London.  The world of corporate video production is indeed keeping the team very busy this month, as we are producing training videos, product videos and promotional videos for clients all over Europe at the moment!

Corporate Video Has Changed

As my title of the blog suggests, I / we have been pretty much living out of suitcases and the company car. We have a had a record amount of filming days in June already and there is still another week and a half of filming days to go, to see us in to July. A lot of this work has been through the Affixxius Education arm of the business and it appears school promotional videos are high in demand. If you would like to see what we have done so far on school promotional video front just pop over to our other website www.affixxius.com/education . I’m hoping the new videos for Ripon College, in Yorkshire and Burleigh College in Loughborough will be up within the next week, so have a look on there for some ‘hot off the suite’ work. You may also notice we have re-vamped that website, turning it into more of a resource in terms of other video products we can offer to the education market and a specific area in which we can show off specifically our education videos.

This month we have also launched our brand new product ProPoint. We have for many years trying to find a way in which we could offer cost efficient video to the masses, without cutting the corners of quality. To find out more we have created a ProPoint video about what ProPoint is, just visit www.affixxius.com/propoint . These start from as little as £1750 and are an excellent starting video for any company of any size. This website is currently being worked on as we speak and will be ready to launch in a months time, so watch that space for even more information about the Future of Presenting, ProPoint.

As you can tell by the lack of blogs and the fact I’m typing this on a Friday night, time has been a bit of a luxury of late and I am only scratching the surface of the sheer amount of work I could talk about. I would like to mention that a new Camping and Caravanning Club video has been completed and on their website and our You Tube page and also there’s a second BlackCircles.com video been completed, which will be on their front page in no time. There will be some new videos uploaded to our website soon and lots more news of our next adventure to Switzerland, where apprently we are camping and hiking in the mountains for a couple of days….and who says corporate video is boring!

CORPORATE VIDEO HAS CHANGED

Hello all! A quick update from the Sales and Marketing desk, here at the Affixxius ‘ranch’ -The past few weeks since Tim’s last corporate video blog have been manic to say the least! Is it the green shoots of a budding economic re-birth? Is it the beautiful weather we are having (from time to time!) here in Leicester?who knows! But what we do know, is that the good ship Affixxius rocks on full steam ahead!

This week in the world of corporate video saw the team at our annual International Boarding Schools Conference in London, which went so well we may have to get Passports ready for the U.S, Nepal, Dubai and Kenya amongst many other top schools and colleges looking for really great videos. As well as this the new education site is up!! check it out at www.affixxius.com/education its looking really great, and has boosted enquiries now that schools and colleges can see what we can do!

Video production is alive and well in Leicester, and Nepal, and Dubai and…..

The team had a great shoot yesterday for the LEBC Fashion Show, at the Athena in Leicester. The footage is looking great, and we shall upload some of it when its done!

In other news, as the climate starts to bite companies all across the country, Affixxius are commissioned to produce two major promotional pieces for a school and a college, and a second PR piece for a major recreation club, its been a busy day already!

With the team here in the middle of several really colourful edits, the main suite is buzzing!

I thought I would write a quick blog about our successes in training, and our brilliant system ‘Instant Playback’ as many of you know, its a three stage video based presentation skills programme, that really is starting to change the way companies train their staff, and keep an eye on how they develop, its great! You can watch our case study video here:  www.affixxius.com/ip

Corporate Video has Changed

On Sunday, myself and another 3 chaps from Affixxius will be heading out Switzerland, to film the new video prospectus for Aiglon College. This first block of 4 days filming is to shoot all their winter (and therefore snow based) activities. We then will have to go back another 2 times to film summer based activities and a lot of interview footage. All this footage we gather will then been turned into a modular DVD for Aiglon College to advertise the many great qualities to prospective students and their parents.

I know this all sounds very glamorous, however, this job is going to be one of the toughest we have ever done. Not only do we have to get all our equipment safely to a foreign country, but we have to film in adverse weather conditions and up mountains. Needless to say, when beginning a project of this magnitude, there is a lot of planning needed. My advice to anyone reading this that maybe commissioning a corporate video in the future, please do allow time for some pre-production planning, it is free with us and ultimately makes the days work we do for you even more thorough than it already would be. 

I do stress this now, however, in the past we have turned round videos in as little as 4 days and they still come out absolutely great! The Aiglon College Video certainly won’t be turned round that quick, but we always aim to turn round videos as quick as the computers (and our brains) will let us. I’m going to leave you with someone else to blog next week, however, keep an eye for a blog in the week commencing 23rd where no doubt we will have some lovely photos for you of our first leg of the Aiglon video.
